“I built this really cool thing, it took a ton of time and does cool things. Surely someone will benefit from the time I’ve put into it.” - Me, every time I’ve built something using data. My problem, like the problem of many others, is rather than starting with a question of “how do we get sustainable value out of data?”, we ask “this thing is really neat, now who could use something like this?” That doesn’t mean we build random things, but that we overestimate the degree to which they are useful for a broader audience. I started with a product, not the customer.
Thanks Eric, I'll be implementing this for next quarters OKRs
